Forums Professions How are you making money with leatherworking? How are you making money with leatherworking? Trollbane Turalyon Twilight's Hammer Vashj Vek'nilash Xavius Zenedar. Hi thanks if you find the time to reply to this but like a lot of other leatherworkers I'm having a tough time making money from the AH.

I've been farming motes and hides and making PvP gear but it just feels like none of it sells, even when I sell it at very good prices. Am I crafting the wrong items?

How do you make money with leatherworking? This is a case for Raenboe wealthyonwow. I would suggest looking at http: LW doesn't seem to have clear winning crafted items on your realm at the moment the way you will see JC and Alchemy, and even BS, do, if you click to them.

I will say that the market for crafted items for starter 90s had gone way down all over, though; that's not just LW.

As it becomes easier to gear up, people are less willing to part with gold to get onto the gear ladder. Thanks for the post and the links: Mammoth mining bag makes me Other than that, I use it with enchanting for mats. Sometimes leather is very cheap compared to ench.

Guild proc makes it a nice option. Who dare summon me?! I would recommend checking out this link here: It states how many of each item are on the AH right now, the material price, the current selling price on your realm, the average selling price recorded on your realm and the average price over the whole of WoW EU.

I personally also recommend crafting "misthide" and "stormscale" gear, which is green crafted items that have a chance to proc a blue quality version with an ilvl of , now that the xp to level from has been nerfed, players are eager to gear and level their alts, meaning these blue pieces can sell for g a pop!

Don't forget to make pristine hide as they can be profitable to craft as well as pvp gear! I use the 2 drums panic and speed to save my! Few leg enchants here and there could work, but nowadays no one buys pvp gear. Still second best profession, atleast gives you something extra.

Depending on how many Spirit of Harmony you're willing to farm besides from sunsong , you can make alot of gold from selling Shadowleather Leg Armor. On my server they sell for around 1k a piece, but ofcourse that varies with competition. Also you could choose to make crafted boe's when you're out of spirits although i tend to just save my leather for the leg enchants, makes more gold in the end. The leg armors on my server sell for way not enough IMO to make them worth it.

I have all the contender's recipes, I think all or close to all the Crafted Gladiator recipes, and keep my AH pretty much covered in those.

I spent some time figuring what I thought were fair prices based on cost of Prismatic Scale and Magnificent Hide, and decided i didn't want to sell the Contender's mail stuff for more than the leather stuff so I post them at pretty much the same price , and I wanted to price my Crafted Gladiator stuff slightly above the cost of the equivalent Contender's piece. People seem to think my prices are fair - my main competition keeps his stuff at about the same price I do though there are some idiots who keep undercutting us by a couple hundred gold from time to time , and people seem to be buying from me and, I presume, from him.

When leather or scales are cheap, I'll mass produce the Misthide or Stormscale pieces, sell the greens for cheap ish and the blues for way overpriced. I also sell just enough and gloves to keep them up on the AH I have all the patterns, bought when they were cheap for a while; the chests don't seem to sell as well as the gloves. I do make the occasional sale through trade channel, but don't typically bother advertising mostly I respond to repeated "want a leatherworker!

I could probably do a fair bit of business if I were to advertise in trade though, esp with the - I bought those patterns before I moved servers - prices on this server for those patterns are way higher, and I'm under the impression that not a lot of people have more than a couple of the patterns though I did sell not a few pieces before I moved servers too.

Makes me quite enough gold for most of what I want I have just financed my shaman's hat and boots primarily via leatherworking. I guess my goal of getting a yak has just been postponed: It really depends on the realm and I only had time to look at yours quickly on undermine. I just sell the crafted PVP gear which does sell slower than the cloth versions..

Considering that a stack of exotic leather normally fluctuates between g with the average price I probably pay of around 65g a stack meaning that magnificent leather costs around It seems on your realm that the prices are higher so the profit should potentially be. I will normally look to craft in markets where there are either no items or 1 or With regards to the rest of the gear It can sometimes be a good idea to buy a good few k worth of it and repost it at a higher price.

At 9 silver per stack it is not costly to sit in the AH and either profit from it in the next hrs or craft with it. Check you recipe list against wowhead or some other site for the avg price and consider making 1 or 2 to check the market out.
